Ampex Data Systems is pleased to announce the release of its 
new TuffServ 480 (Version 2) Rugged Network Attached System (TS 480v2). The TS 480v2 is a P3I product update to the successful TS 480 with increased performance and modern processor choices. The updated system is fully form, function, footprint compatible in hardware and software to the TS 480 and supports the same configuration options as well as both the original RSA (Removable Storage Array) and new RSA’s with updated performance and capacity. Engineered with a scalable architecture consistent with the Ampex Common Compute Environment ™ (ACCE), the system supports a wide range of applications.
Designed for compact size, low weight, and mounting flexibility, the TuffServ 480v2 combines sustained throughput of over 500MB/s (peak 800MB/s), and memory module capacities of 16TB. The TS 480v2 has a volume of 10” x 7.25” x 5.25”. These capabilities, combined with meeting challenging MIL-SPEC environmental qualifications, make the TS 480v2 uniquely suited for applications where performance cannot be sacrificed, regardless of mounting location. Interfaces available on the TS 480v2 include multiple gigabit Ethernet, 10 gigabit optical Ethernet, and Serial FPDP. Contact your Ampex representative for additional data or custom interfaces.
